This is my journey...

Ugh!

So, I went from feeling great to feeling completely crappy. :(

My lunch was delicious! It was sweet and slightly tart at the same time. Also, I couldn't even taste the spinach so I was super happy.
I've also been drinking tons of water. I've been using my awesome Snow White water cup and so far I';ve filled it up 10 times today. The downside is that I have to pee every 30 minutes or so. I've gotta say, it's never been this clear!
Toward the end of the day I started feeling horrible though. I had such a bad headache (still do) and am shaky and cold. I'm also crazy emotional. (I may have started crying in the car on the way home because I wanted fish tacos from the Brig or a bean and cheese burrito.)

I am crazy tired, so I am headed to bed at 7:30pm.

Goodnight!

***Apparently I fell asleep without hitting "publish" last night, so I uploaded it today.***

Today is day one of the 60 day juice fast. Yesterday I went shopping for a weeks wort of fruits and veggies. Let me tell you, prepping everything is a huge time commitment!
That picture is just the fruits! I washed everything, then got it mostly cut and store in my mini fridge. I never realized what a pain it is to pit cherries! It was almost 10pm before I finished everything, so I will have to wash and prep the veggies tonight.

My last meal was delicious! Chris and I went to Fresh and Easy and got some cheese stuffed, bacon wrapped chicken breasts. They were soooooo good! We also had Au Gratin potatoes and cheesecake for dessert.

My last meal.
I woke up early today to get all my juices made. I made breakfast, lunch, and a snack. My breakfast was 1 cantaloupe, 3 pears, and 1 sweet potato. It made copious amounts of juice... Enough to fill a 24 ounce cup as well as 2 pint sized mason jars. I drank the 24 ounce cup for breakfast on my way to work, and just finished one of the jars for a snack. I am definitely getting sick of the cantaloupe flavor now though. I'm excited for my lunch later! It is a pint of raspberries, a pint of blue berries, a pint of strawberries, and 2 handfuls of baby spinach. It smells so good! :)

I also weighed myself this morning. I'm not going to post my weight, but I will post how much I've lost.

Lots of juice!
I started off the day feeling great! It's about 11:15 am now, and I've been to the bathroom 6 times already. It's somewhat annoying, but oh well. Lol. I also have a slight headache, but nothing too bad. I'm hoping I can get through the first week without being affected by detox symptoms.

I'm also surprised, I don't feel hungry at all! Let's just hope it stays that way.

Happy Tuesday!

I had a productive day! I got up early and decided to go with my plan of cleaning my room. I am bad with cleaning! I start off with making more of a mess than I originally had to begin with. When Chris got home from work around 2, there was a huge mess... he had trouble coming into my room to say hi. He ended up helping me for a bit.  Here is what he walked into:
We ended up working pretty quickly and finished it. I am so happy I have a nice clean room now!
I also was able to talk him into going shopping with me! We went to Bed Bath & Beyond to start purchasing some of the things I will need for my juice fast. We got some new storage containers so I can prep most of the fruits and veggies for a few days at a time. Then in the morning it will be so much easier to just grab what I want and throw it in the juicer. In the mornings I will be making my breakfast, lunch, and  a snack. I also bought mason jars to store the lunch and snack in while I'm at work. I've been reading up on how to store juices, and mason jars are recommended. You are supposed to store them in glass, not metal or plastic, and the container needs to be airtight so the fresh juices don't spoil. To transport them in, I bought a really cute lunch bag. It has a removable ice pack that I'll keep in it to keep my juice nice and cold. Tomorrow or Monday I want to go to Von's to get a to-go tumbler I saw there. It was double insulated, and had a gel in-between the layers. I figure I'll keep it in the freezer overnight, so when I pour my breakfast into the cup, it will get cold as well. I'm not very fond of warm juice.

While we were getting ready to check out. I found The Juicing Bible. It has over 300 different fruit and vegetable juice recipes, as well as facts about all types of herbs and produce. One of the things I found interesting was that they have different ailments listed as well as what juices or herbs will help relieve the symptoms. That will be fantastic if I experience any of the detox symptoms common when you fast. I am hoping I won't, but you never know! Here's what I bought:

I am really getting excited for this! I feel that if I do it right, it will be a completely life-changing experience for me.

God Bless!

Ok, this has been on my mind for awhile now:

Ireally want to do a juice fast. A 60 day juice fast to be exact. I feel like it would be really great for me. I really want to get healthy, and losing a ton of weight in a fairly short period of time seems like a great added bonus. Plus the other things, like a better complexion, more energy, better sleep, healthier hair and nails... I want all of that! I'm a bit scared though. First off, I like to eat. I love breads and cheeses. Going from eating meat, dairy, and gluten to being a raw vegan (only for the juice fast) seems like it will suck. I know when I get used to it I most likely won't miss all the crap I usually eat, and will start craving the good healthy stuff. However, going 60 days without a bean and cheese burrito does not sound fun. Don't get me wrong, I'm excited about the fast... I'm just a bit apprehensive at the same time.

I plan to start on Tuesday, May 21st. On Monday after work I will go shopping for all the groceries for the first week, plus a few treats. :) Not that the treats are all that exciting to everyone, but I am stoked about getting new Tupperware, a thermos, and a few travel tumblers. It's the little things, right?

This weekend I will clean out the fridge, and deep clean both rooms. I want to start with a clean living environment, to keep my new "clean" self in! Plus, I'm anxious about it, so all that nervous energy needs to go somewhere.

I'm also trying to think of something really delicious for my "last meal" in Monday night. I plan for it to include lots of cheese!

I'm hoping that blogging about this experience will help keep me accountable. I don't really expect anybody to actually read and follow this, but making myself right about the journey will make more likely to perservere.

TTFN!
